Masia One
Masia One is that 1 in a million. Born in Singapore, raised in Canada, she earned her stripes in America and became inspired by her time in Jamaica. Now this artist is reconnecting with her roots in Asia and re-emerging as the Far East Empress.
Masia One set out on an unlikely path of becoming a full-time rapper after graduating in Architecture at University of Toronto. Since this time, she has worked with top artists and producers such as Pharrell, JohnFrusciante, Che Vicious (G.O.O.D. Music, Kanye West, Jay-Z) to Hong Kong Actor and pop star, Edison Chen.
Her music has been featured on Netflix series Tiny Pretty Things, Snowpiercer, Wu Assassins, Altered Carbon and used in the title track for Fast & Furious 8.
Masia One is an artist, entrepreneur and cultural ambassador, and creates music with a message to inspire people to connect with their royal self.
DJ ALX
Alexandre Talhinhas is a Music Producer, Musician and a Sound Engineer who recently had his collaboration with Masia One featured on Netflix Altered Carbon Season 2 OST.
He composed Ti Tou Tao (Mediacorp Channel 5 series) theme song alongside Masia One. & Joshua Simon’s (Kiss 92 host) track Tokyo for his Debut Album. He also composed several soundtracks in theatre working up close with Tiago Rodrigues (Portuguese National Theatre Director), the founder alongside Magda Bizarro of Mundo Perfeito Theatre Company and w ith Macaco do Chinês (guitarist/singer/ producer), a band that where pioneers in crossing Hip-Hop, Dubstep and Grime with Portuguese traditional music he released two critically acclaimed albums and a mixtape.
Macacos do Chinês toured both nationally and internationally, play in main festivals like Rock In Rio and stared in MTV’s Brand New TV concerts.
Jahwise Productions
Winner of the Music Victoria Award in the category of Reggae, Jahwise is quickly establishing himself as a prolific producer of roots reggae, dub and beyond.
Originally from the city of Sao Paulo Brazil, Jahwise, born Elie El Ossais, has been deep in the music for over 20 years. His passion started on bass, building his name in the Australian music scene as a quintessential bassist for headlining Hiphop and Reggae acts touring 'down under'. Jahwise has shared the stage with such legendary acts as Steel Pulse and Anthony B., and continues to be a core member of band Crown Heights, backing talent like Marvin Priest, Rike Ragga. He is an on demand sessionist for bass and guitar with the Natural Order band, as heard on recordings of Ras Jah Know and Jah Tung.
Jahwise stepped into his role as a producer after a 2016 trip to Jamaica where he recorded at Tuff Gong Studios with notable artists like Lutan Fyah, Derajah, Franklin Bubbler Waul, C Sharp and Wayne Armond. His signature way of building live instrumentation into his tracks, together with his traditional dub mixing methods allow his works to stand apart in a world of computer generated beats. His much anticipated Jamaica recording will release with Nusantara July 2022, and increase this Roots man's reach from Australia, Jamaican to his homeland of Brazil.
Lawrence Wright Jazz Ensemble (LWJE)
This band begins with the philosophies of an imagined musical protagonist, Lawrence Wright; a jazz musician fixated on ideas of spirituality and universal laws. His deep interests permeate through his compositions, exploring intense narratives mirroring concepts of classical composers like Richard Strauss and Gustav Mahler.
The Lawrence Wright Jazz Ensemble (LWJE) is the brainchild of artist, musician and producer QSound, and is comprised of drums, bass, keyboards, synths, trombone and sax, with guest players featured on trumpet and flute.
The sound of LWJE first captured audiences at high energy live performances at various Jazz Festivals around Malaysia including Publika Jazz Festival in 2018 and Iskandar Jazz Festival in 2019. In 2021, the ensemble released its first single "House of Tribes", an Afro-Jazz infused melody with a curious music video inspiring carefree dancing at the heart of a pandemic world. A debut EP from LWJE is anticipated for Summer 2022.
